Fort Peck Parks Planning
Poplar, Montana
Interstate Engineering developed a comprehensive parks plan, including proposed park layouts and trail options connecting the park to key locations, guiding project prioritization and development.
The Fort Peck Tribes received significant funding from the Congressional ARPA Bill, with a portion allocated for building a recreational facility in Poplar. As part of this initiative, the Tribes engaged Interstate Engineering to develop a comprehensive parks plan detailing proposed layouts for a new park in Poplar and options for a trail connecting the park to other key locations. This plan aims to prioritize projects and guide the development of recreational activities in Poplar.
Interstate Engineering provided a selection of park features, including play areas, an amphitheater, gazebos, and playground equipment, which can be selected as funding becomes available. This strategic approach allows the Tribe to secure future funding for the park’s completion and coordinate with Tribal Transportation for the trails plan’s implementation.
The plan addresses the initial project and outlines a well-thought-out strategy for future development as additional funds are secured, ensuring the long-term enhancement of recreational facilities in Poplar.
