Meagher County Senior Center Grant Writing

Initially, we successfully secured funding for installing solar panels on the building and are currently working on obtaining funds for a comprehensive kitchen remodel.

Solar Panel Installation

Our first project involved writing and submitting a grant application to Northwestern Energy, which resulted in a successful award of $71,000. This funding facilitated the installation of solar panels on the community center, contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability goals. The solar panels are now operational, providing significant long-term cost savings and environmental benefits for the center.

Kitchen Remodel

The next critical project involves updating the center’s kitchen, which has outdated appliances and a non-functioning fryer. Recognizing the urgent need for modernization to serve the community better, we have submitted grant applications to several foundations:

• Treacy Foundation
• Montana Community Foundation (pre-application submitted to the Otto Bremer Trust)
