Prairie Knights Casino Hotel Expansion
Fort Yates, North Dakota
Prairie Knights Casino and Resort of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe retained Interstate Engineering to provide owner’s representative and construction administration services for a new, 100-room hotel expansion.
Interstate Engineering was instrumental in the successful completion of the project. The management of Prairie Knights Casino worked with Interstate Engineering during the conceptual phases of the project. This included the sizing and location of the addition and preliminary budget figures. With guidance and assistance, the casino secured funding to turn this vision into reality.
With funding secure, Interstate Engineering worked closely with the casino to secure the services of an architectural firm along with the associated design team. Interstate Engineering worked continuously with the casino and design team to ensure all aspects of project design were carefully and well thought out, ultimately serving the casino’s best interest and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The final project scope included a 100-unit, 3-level hotel addition complete with meeting rooms, exercise rooms, laundry facility, pool with hot tub and kids splash deck, and a new, 2-level, security-controlled parking structure.
Throughout the project, Interstate Engineering worked closely with tribal and government officials to verify compliance with all regulations. The team provided on-site observation to assist in quality control, holding contractors to best practices to ensure a quality, long-lasting facility for Prairie Knights Casino. This $20 million project was completed in 2011 and has been a significant addition to the success of the Prairie Knights Casino and the entire Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
