Sidney Public Schools Engineer

Interstate Engineering has worked in various capacities with the Sidney Public School District for over 25 years. With an office located in Sidney, Interstate Engineering has been able to provide feasible engineering services that not many rural school districts have readily available.

Interstate Engineering has provided the following services for Sidney Schools within the last ten years alone. A more detailed project description is available upon request.

2011

WEST SIDE ELEMENTARY DRAINAGE STUDY

Assess surface water drainage issues and provide available options and associated cost estimates. We assisted the district in soliciting bids from area contractors to construct the option selected by the school board.

CENTRAL ELEMENTARY STRUCTURAL REVIEW

Provided a structural review of the 1949 addition to Central Elementary to provide the school board information to assist them with decisions regarding the nature of the structure for future uses.

2012

DUE DILIGENCE ON THE PROPOSED SCHOOL SITE DEVELOPMENT

Provided options available on existing school property for teacher housing and a new school facility on nearly 30 acres, including a baseball field, track and football field, and future athletics complex due to the oil boom.

SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL HOOP REPLACEMENT

Assisted the district in replacing basketball hoops at Sidney High School and provided all required measurements to meet structural mounting requirements and NFHS standards.

2013

CENTRAL SCHOOL 2ND FLOOR REMODEL

Construction administration on the second-floor remodeling project at Central School.

WEST SIDE SEWER BYPASS

Provided survey, permitting, easement acquisition, design engineering, and construction engineering and administration for approximately 600 feet of 8-inch PVC sewer main to remove the existing sewer lift station owned and operated by the district. The new sewer main was dedicated to the City of Sidney to own, operate, and maintain.

CERTIFICATE OF SURVEY

Provided legal survey for a boundary line relocation. The survey provided approximately 30 acres for a future school facility.

2014

SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL CTE ADDITION

Provided survey, permitting, easement acquisition, design engineering, construction engineering, and administration for a new CTE addition to Sidney High School. The project included typical site improvements, approximately 6,500 square yards of asphalt parking lot reconstruction, and about 600 feet of 10-inch PVC water main to provide adequate fire coverage.

WEST SIDE RE-ROOF

Assisted the district with an alternative delivery method for the West Sidney School re-roofing project.

2015

SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL NORTH PARKING LOT

Provided survey, design engineering, and construction engineering and administration for about 7,000 square yards of asphalt parking lot reconstruction and approximately 2,000 square yards of concrete driveway and parking lot reconstruction.

2016

SIDNEY MIDDLE SCHOOL PARKING LOT & BASKETBALL COURT

Provided survey, design engineering, construction engineering, and administration for roughly 4,000 square yards of concrete parking lot reconstruction, including a new basketball court.

2018

SIDNEY TRACK

Provided survey, design engineering, construction engineering, and administration for a new post-tensioned track. The design of the track’s drainage facilities included the ability for the School to convert from a grass field to an artificial turf field in the future.

CENTRAL SCHOOL SEWER REROUTE

Provided survey, permitting, design engineering, construction engineering, and administration for about 300 feet of 8-inch PVC sewer main to accommodate new gym addition.

SIDNEY TRACK & FOOTBALL FIELD NORTH CONCESSIONS

Provided survey, permitting, design engineering, construction engineering, and administration for roughly 100 feet of 8-inch PVC sewer main to serve a permanent, all-season concession building north of the track. We provided civil engineering services for the new concession building.

2019

SIDNEY TRACK & FOOTBALL FIELD NORTH PARKING AREA

Provide preliminary engineering and quantities for a new parking facility north of the north grandstands.

2023

SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL BAND ROOF INSPECTION

Provided roof inspection where previous additions were connected with a proposed solution meeting building code.
