US 52 Road Diet
Jamestown, North Dakota
The North Dakota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the City of Jamestown and the Federal Highway Administration, constructed roadway improvements to US Highway 52.
In 2019, the North Dakota Department of Transportation selected Interstate Engineering to begin the preliminary design for this urban roadway. Preliminary engineering work included survey, traffic study, right-of-way negotiations, design, and environmental documentation. Proposed improvements to Highway 52 included lane reconfiguration, curb bulb-outs with decorative lighting and landscaping, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossings. The Highway 52 project started at the junction of 7th Avenue NW and traveled south and east to the junction of 8th Street South. The project aimed to address the corridor’s social demands and roadway deficiencies.
