Warwick Dam Rehabilitation
Eddy County, North Dakota
The Warwick Dam is located on the Sheyenne River in Eddy County, south of Warwick in North Central North Dakota.
The existing low-head dam was constructed in 1933 and modified in 1952. Over the last 20 years, the dam has sustained damage caused by frequent flooding by the Sheyenne River.
The alternative selected by the Eddy County Water Resource District would be to modify and rehabilitate the existing concrete dam structure. This alternative would rehabilitate the existing concrete abutments and the dam’s spillway and restore the integrity of the existing dam abutments. This option also included the repair of the erosion on the south and north banks in the vicinity of the dam and installing erosion protection on the banks. This alternative included installing sheet piling for the abutments and dam sill and rock riprap for the dam and helping provide fish passage in the area.
