Williston High School CTE Expansion
Williston, North Dakota
Expansion of the Career and Technical Education Center at Williston High School.
Interstate Engineering partnered with EAPC Architects to design the Career and Technical Education Center expansion at Williston High School.
The team faced the challenges of a limited budget, achieving the necessary floor space for classrooms, shops, etc., within a limited available area on the existing campus, maintaining proper fire protection, and stormwater collection. Interstate Engineering participated in design meetings with the architect and CMAR to overcome these challenges. The team decided to use an existing approach for the new parking lot. Fire hydrants were placed strategically with emergency vehicle access, and the storm drain system was rerouted around the new building.
Interstate Engineering constantly communicated with the client throughout the project to stay on schedule and within the budget. The team conducted design meetings with EAPC Architects and CMAR, responded to all requests for information, reviewed material submittals, and completed construction site observation. The team also helped ensure that proper fire protection was maintained and the stormwater system was completed.
