Poplar Childcare Facility

The Fort Peck Tribes, recognizing the urgent need for a childcare facility in Poplar, MT, secured a grant through the Department of Health and Human Services and chose a modular building approach for its efficiency.

Project Scope

Interstate Engineering was hired in November 2020 to design the facility’s foundation, utilities, parking lot, and drainage. The modular building was scheduled for delivery in May 2021.

Execution

• Design and Bidding: Completed ahead of the building’s arrival.
• Phased Construction:
  • Phase 1: Installed utilities and constructed the foundation.
  • Phase 2: Coordinated the placement of the modular building.
  • Phase 3: Completed fencing, parking lots, and exterior enhancements.

Coordination

Interstate Engineering coordinated with the owner, contractor, and building supplier to help ensure timely completion.

Outcome

The facility opened on schedule and serves over 50 children daily, demonstrating effective project management and engineering solutions.
