Zach Grapentine Hired as Traffic Engineer We are excited to announce the addition of Zach Grapentine, EI, to the Spearfish, South Dakota, office. Grapentine will serve as a project engineer with a focus on traffic engineering and municipal engineering. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the South Dakota State School of Mines and Technology, he worked in Colorado for five years focusing on traffic engineering and municipal infrastructure. On Wednesday March 20, 2019, Governor Doug Burgum signed House Bill 1066c an infrastructure bill also known as”Operation Prairie Dog,” into law. That is great news for North Dakota as this bill will provide a source of sustainable funding for the future for North Dakota Cities, Counties, Townships, and Airports for infrastructure projects. The funds would first be available for projects in the summer of 2021. The infrastructure “buckets” may fill to $250 million total, distributing up to $115 million to cities, $115 million to counties and townships, and $20 million for airport infrastructure. Isaac Rost Hired as Staff Engineer We are proud to announce Isaac Rost has joined our Jamestown Office. Rost will serve as a staff engineer. He is a recent graduate from North Dakota State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. With interest in transportation and municipal engineering, Rost will bring energy to the role. Rost spent four years interning for consulting firms and municipalities. Spearfish Surveyor Numbers On the Rise Clay Tarrant, a Land Surveyor with Interstate Engineering, was recently awarded his Professional Land Surveyor License in the State of South Dakota. To become licensed, Tarrant was required to pass the South Dakota Land Surveyor Examination, testing his knowledge of statutes, rules, and regulations regarding professional land surveying. Tarrant works in the Spearfish, South Dakota, office has experience surveying throughout the Black Hills area. He has been a member of the Interstate Engineering team since 1994.
