Areas of town will be without water from 8 am to 3 pm while the construction crew replaces a water main valve on the project. Impacted areas will include the entire east end of Main Street east of 2nd Ave NE, and from Main Street to 2nd Street NE. It is not anticipated that the shutdown will extend beyond the areas shown in the attached map – streets highlighted in red are the impacted areas for the water shutdown. While we do not anticipate the shutdown extending beyond the areas shown, it is possible that further areas may be affected if existing water valves do not perform adequately and isolate the work area.

The public meeting scheduled for Monday, the 24th, will be held at the In Joy Fitness building. Access to the building will be made available from the rear, at the doorway in the alleyway. Signage will be provided to help guide the public to the correct door for the meeting. STAGES 1-3 STATUS UPDATE (CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS)
Last week, the contractor worked on sanitary sewer piping installation and sanitary service installation in stage 3. In stages 1 & 2 concrete work continued with parking lanes and sidewalks. This week, the contractor will be working on the following:
1. Sanitary service installations in stage 3 & 4.
2. Water main installation in stage 3 & 4.
3. Water services in stage 3.
4. Begin storm sewer installation in stage 3
5. Continue concrete installation in stages 1 & 2.

Last week, the contractor worked on removals in Stage 3, completed a water valve replacement on 2nd Avenue NE, and placed Class 5 aggregate on Stages 1 and 2. This week, the contractor will be working on the following:
Removals on Main Street between Central Avenue and 1st Avenue E.
Sanitary sewer replacement in Stage 3 to 1st Avenue E.
Curb and Gutter placement in Stages 1 & 2.
Sidewalk placement in Stages 1 & 2

NOTICE: Should the necessary water valves not hold for this temporary shutdown as expected, further isolation attempts would be required and may result in water loss for a much larger area. Due to the layout of the valves within town, it is possible that all areas from 3rd Street North down to the railroad tracks may be without water during this timeframe.
